Matthew Ferro
Growing up Matt was always active and got involved in as many sports as he possibly could, excelling in all of them. Unfortunately, his muscle tone was much less than impressive. He remained the tall, skinny kid all the way up until his second last year of high school when he finally decided it was time for me to hit the gym. It wasn’t until then that his passion for fitness and personal training really began to take hold. Matt quickly became a regular at our local gym and before he knew it he was finally beginning to see some results and receiving compliments from friends and family on his transformation. Matt's love for fitness carried him into McMaster University where he recently graduated with honours with a bachelor’s degree of Science in Kinesiology. Throughout his years at Mac, Matt's interest in fitness and nutrition skyrocketed and he was quickly becoming noticed by friends, family, and strangers alike for his determination and hard work.
It wasn’t until he graduated that Matt realized what he wanted to do with his future. My passion for this industry was too strong to ignore and so it was time for Matt to make his mark and start training for his first competition and begin a career in fitness modelling. Knowing he couldn’t do this himself, he began working and training with his current coach Tommy Beatrice. Through working with him, strict dieting, and intense training over the past 5 months, he has already far exceeded expectations and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Recently, Matt had an opportunity to work with some great people at MuscleTech for their new Hydroxycut ad. He also competed in the WBFF Quebec Championships on April 28th and placed 3rd in the fitness model category.
With two photo shoots down and his first competition under his belt, Matt plans on making a big impact on the fitness industry. He is back to training hard in preparation for his next competition this August at the WBFF World Championships in Mississauga.
